In the early 17th century the patrician Foscarini family commissioned Vincenzo Scamozzi to build a country estate which was later altered by Giuseppe Jappelli in a more neoclassical style. The villa, with its interesting shoe museum, and the guest house with its richly frescoed salon, are both open to the public and used regularly for concerts, weddings and other events.
